Patrick Swayze- how we have loved thee
There’s not too many girls my age and perhaps a little older and younger that hasn’t at one time had a crush on Patrick Swayze. He was the good/badboy Johnny in the classic Dirty Dancing. He played big brother in the outsiders, a lover and friend in Ghost, a bouncer in Road House, and the list goes on and on. He has fired up the hormones and imaginations of many a woman along the way and provided men with action and adventure. He will be missed. RIP Patrick Swayze, .
A Very famous lady with a heart has died
Eunice Kennedy Shriver died. She was 88 years old and a very hardworking person. She established the special o lympics for mentally challenged and handicap individuals. She was inspired to do this because she had a retarded sister named Rosemary. It’s a very refreshing to see someone with money and power due something really special for the world at large, It’s a sad day when we lose someone like her because she indeed helped people. Rip Eunice Kennedy Shriver.
I haven’t done one of these in a while so I’m going to do a combined one.
We have lost many people recently. For starters we have Karl Mauldin, a fine actor that made many movies. Then we have Michael Jackson, the singer and pop icon that provided much entertainment for decades and finally we have legendary newsman, Walter Cronkite, who provided a voice for the whole world. We salute these people and their many accomplishments.
RIP Bea Arthur- Your portrayals were priceless!
Bea Arthur died today at age 86. She was in many different television shows over the years. All in the family, Maude, Golden Girls among them. All these shows left a huge a mark on the history of television and on women all over the country.
I really remember as Maude but of course most people would remember her as Dorothy on Golden Girls. But, whatever you remember her for you probably have a strong impression of her because she was a strong television actress who had great timing and talent. She will really be missed.
RIP PAUL HARVEY -You made Long rides more bearable!
I just saw that Paul Harvey died. He was 90 years old and in my opinion had one of the best voices heard on the radio. His style was definitely unique and I remember listening to him years ago I believe on the road to Charlottesville to see the doctor. I really enjoyed him even at a young age. You will be missed Paul Harvey.
Rest in Peace Paul Newman-You made a difference.
Paul Newman was great individual. He was a good actor, excellent humanitarian, and even managed to keep a marriage together for a long time in an industry that is riddled with divorces and separation. He even managed to make a mark in the sports world with his race car diving and ownership. He will definitely be missed.
Personally, I think he was a pretty good looking man who had great acting talent. My favorite movies of his are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I really liked the way he seemed so natural in his roles. I also liked him in the movie Cool Hand Luke. He never seem to blink an eye with whatever his roles require.
The humor he possessed was subtle and that’s one of his traits that will be missed. He was a very considerate human being that will be missed for his many endeavors. RIP Paul Newman. We will never forget you. Note: I hope everyone saw the great tributes done by Robert Redford on ABC news and entertainment tonight. Man, what a class act! Also, TCM is having an all day Newman film showing on Oct. 12 in case you’re interested.
